The AMRI facility performs magnetic resonance imaging of mouse and rat models in the NHLBI. We perform cardiac imaging for heart function and dimensions, high resolution imaging of myocardium for identification of infarcts and scars, angiography and vessel wall imaging, whole body imaging for identification of non-cardiac defects in mouse models, and more. We analyze and interpret MRI data and work with investigators on the best approaches for the research model and goals. Training in MRI and data analysis is available. Imaging studies are performed in the NIH Mouse Imaging Facility (MIF). Through the MIF, it is possible to incorporate additional imaging modalities such as computed tomography, ultrasound and bioluminescence.
