Abstract

A current method for developing phase sensitive imaging of soft tissue samples uses high density transmission gratings. A grating design is proposed that uses an echelle, or staircase-like, pattern with multilayer metal deposition and angled x-ray transmission to produce higher grating density than is presently achievable. Two grating designs were fabricated and tested at APS synchrotron source and the results are presented.
