Abstract

Obtaining structurally-defined glycopeptides is very important to study their biological functions and to be utilized for clinical applications. In this work we carried out a systematic comparison of published coupling conditions toward our effort to identify the optimal conditions for preparing glycopeptides. We looked at the coupling of four Fmoc-protected glyco-amino acids and their non-glycoslyated counterpart. We found that epimerization is more of a problem than the coupling efficiency of glyco-amino acids.
