My Journal Shelf is a user-friendly web application that facilitates browsing and searching current issues of scientific journals. The virtual “shelf” displays journal cover images that link to the table of contents on the publisher’s website, where users can browse articles as soon as they are published, before they are indexed in PubMed. My Journal Shelf allows users to: • Browse many NIH e-access journals • Retrieve, download, and email citations through the Search interface • Create a personalized shelf, search term list, and use enhanced search capabilities upon authentication via NIH login (currently for NIAID users only) • Access full-text articles outside the NIH network through the NIH Library remote access service (currently for authenticated NIAID users only) Access the application by visiting http://journalshelf.niaid.nih.gov/ using Firefox, Google Chrome, and Safari (not compatible with Internet Explorer). Stay updated on the latest releases by designating My Journal Shelf as the browser homepage. The tool was developed by the NIAID Office of Cyber Infrastructure and Computational Biology (OCICB) Bioinformatics and Computational Biosciences Branch (BCBB) in conjunction with Dr. Michael Lenardo of the Laboratory of Immunology, DIR, NIAID.
