Dazzling new methods,
genetic sequences, and a prodigious
rate of profound new discoveries make
today part of one of the most exciting
eras in the history of biomedical research.
Against this backdrop, five NIH Institute
Directors will present a plenary session
showcasing the NIH Intramural Research
Program and the "Future Direction
of Biomedical Research." The talks
will feature scientific discovery, future
directions of investigation, and what
it will take to get there. Following
the individual presentations, there
will be an open panel discussion moderated
by Dr. Ruth Kirschstein, Acting Director,
NIH, and Dr. Michael Gottesman, Deputy
Director for Intramural Research, NIH.
