Next-Generation DNA Sequencing Platforms: Changing the Landscape of Genomics and Genetics
2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Chair: Eric Green, NHGRI

Revolutionary changes are taking place in genomics and genetics with the introduction of 'next-generation' technologies for DNA sequencing. The successful infusion of these new methods, which include multiple platforms available now and several others expected in the next few years, are already having a profound impact on the ability to generate prodigious amounts of DNA sequence data. The four speakers in this symposium will describe the utility and early experiences with these exciting new technologies and illustrate the new research frontiers being pursued with their implementation.
