Epigenetics refers to the study of heritable changes in phenotype or gene expression caused by mechanisms other than changes in the underlying DNA sequence. Recent findings have revealed DNA methylation, histone modifications, and chromatin remodeling as core molecular mechanisms by which heritable information other than primary DNA influences gene expression. This mini-symposium will feature talks from leading scientists in the field studying chromatin organization, remodeling, and modifications.
