Antibodies are important agents for both the therapy and diagnosis of human disease. Therapeutic antibodies are currently used in the treatment of cancer, infectious disease and inflammatory processes. Advances in antibody engineering are aimed at improving early generation antibodies and by using recombinant techniques, display selections and mutagenesis, it is hoped to generate antibodies with more desirable properties.
